Well today would be day #22 of my 10,000 step challenge.  Aaaaaand I’m nowhere close.

It has been a very snowy January.  Which personally I find to be fabulous because I just ADORE snow, but it is making heading out and walking very difficult.  I haven’t completely dropped the 10k challenge, but I’ve been hitting some snowy walls in it.

So overall news, I gained back the 4 pounds with a week of being snowed in and eating like crap.  I really need to learn how to deal with stress in ways other than my default: to eat.  Having had some bad news last week I was extra eating.

But this past week I’m back on board.  I actually started a food journal on myfitnesspal.com and it’s keep me on track with my eating.  I like seeing numbers, it makes it all real.

So that’s the update for now.  Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in, we’ll see if I lost anything.  But either way, even with the obstacles and all, I’m still keeping positive.  And I still love the snow <3

Well, today was hands down my best day so far.  I more than doubled today’s goal.  I’m sure it was a mixture between taking a longer walk this morning than originally anticipated (due to circumstances out of my control), plus doing a lot of rearranging of rooms at work (here’s hoping my back doesn’t feel that in the morning).  Feeling good.  Though anticipating tomorrow to be another day that I will have trouble meeting my goal because there is supposed to be a huge snow storm.  I’m hoping there is a break mid day so I can still head out and walk, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what tomorrow holds!

Well this is the first day that I didn’t meet my steps goal.  Though I was bummed, I could see where my downfall was . . . I worked a double.  LOL!  I don’t work in a big office where I can opt to take the stairs instead of the elevator or anything fancy like that.  And without the opportunity to walk the dogs or do much other than fight with the computer at work I didn’t meet the goal.  Boooooooo.

Down 4 pounds from last week.  Wooooohooooo!  And imagine how much I could have lost if I actually ate right in addition to exercise?  HA!

Today I took the dogs on the longer walk . . . while it was snowing.  SOOOO beautiful.  Though we were a bit soggy when we got back, it was well worth the snowy walk <3

Lots of sitting today.  Yawn.  Oh, and my fruit dehydrating experiment was . . . well . . . gross.  Not sure what went wrong, but I guess I’ll have to try again.

Weights, stretching, AbDolly, Walked the dogs.
We actually took a longer walk today, which was a little rough on my knee and I was pretty sore for most of the afternoon, but it seems to be back to normal.  My back is also feeling VERY stiff.  But that might just be stress related.  I’m going to play it by ear, maybe skip the AbDolly tomorrow to see if that’s what is affecting my back.  Ahhhh back problems are never fun.  Oh well.

I also FINALLY went food shopping.  I was good, didn’t buy anything bad for me.  All fruits and veggies, some pistachios as well.  I also loaded up the dehydrator tonight with some veggies.  So now I just wait 1-1 1/2 days to try my own dried fruits.  Fingers crossed!

Far less mobile today apparently.  I still walked the dogs, did my weight lifting, ab work, and stretching.  Just had to do more desk type stuff at work.  I’m a little exhausted, but starting to feel awesome because of all of the work I’ve been doing.  I’m still moving forward.  Still seeing my goal up ahead.  Slowly but surely, right?

Walked the dogs today, did weights, abdominal exercises, and stretching.  Not to mention spent less time behind the desk at work than usual.  My metabolism is REALLY kicking my ass, though.  It’s making eating difficult.  I’ve gone in just a handful of days from barely wanting to eat anything and forcing myself to eat 3 meals a day, to craving food 24/7. And I still haven’t had a chance to do my meal plan, or go shopping, or make anything in my dehydrator, so I’m down to bare bones, back of the cabinet, NOTHING good for me.  UGH!  I’m going to have nothing to show at my weigh in on Sunday if I keep eating like this.  Ugh.  Goal for tomorrow: get to work on this good food stuff!!

Today I made sure not only to go out and walk the dogs, but also did some stretching and weight lifting.  I also am seeing an increase in my metabolism, which is a bonus.  The bad part is that I’m not seeing it in weight loss I’m seeing it in an increase in appetite.  So if getting serious about eating right was important before, it’s extra important now.  Speaking of which, I didn’t do so hot with my eating today, and didn’t have a chance to plan out my meals for the week.  BUT I did get some fruit and some yogurt, and tomorrow I will make my first attempt at dehydrated fruit.

I got a Ronco 5-tray dehydrator for Christmas.  I’ve been very excited to try it out, yet nervous all at the same time.  The booklet that comes with it unfortunately isn’t super detailed, so I guess I’ll be winging it.  Here’s hoping the stuff I attempt to dehydrate will be edible!  Can’t wait to get started on it tomorrow.  Still moving forward and continuing to feel better.
